5.1 Insert picture

Pictures can be inserted by either creating an element which contains both text and image, or by selecting an "Images only" element. The tab “Images” will then be accessible. To insert a picture, click on "Add image". (Img. 5.1.1)

After clicking "Add image", a popup appears containing the Filelist structure. Go to the folder which contains the images, by clicking on it in the folder structure. You can select "Display thumbnails" to see the images listed in the folder (1). Choose an image by clicking the file title (2) or directly on the image (3). If the image is not already uploaded, choose the folder you wish to upload it to and use the browse function to select from your local computer (4). Click Upload files to process (5). The uploaded images will appear, and you can then select them from the filelist. (Img. 5.1.2)

When you have added the image, some new fields will appear. To delete an image, use the trash-can icon (1). To hide or unhide an image, click on the light bulb icon (2). It is possible to add a title text, which is shown as a yellow information field on hover on the website (3). The Alternative text is not used on the frontend of the website, but is indexed by Google (4). You can link the image by using the link icon on the right (5). The description field is the caption of the image and displayed below the image on the website (6). You can set the image to enlarge when clicked on (7). In newer versions of TYPO3 you are also able to crop images directly in TYPO3 (8). (Img. 5.1.3)

The tab "Appearance" contains more information with setting for the images. You can rescale the image, without losing its proportions (1). And you are able to position the images in relation to the text, if you are working with an element containing both text and image (2). (Img. 5.1.4)
